Joan, I'm not sure if that's him. I have no evidence of him having a middle name and his fathers occupation is Carpenter, the one you found is a Shipbroker

After Thomas's death Isabella is remarried by 1881

From information on his wedding certificate in 1874 Sunderland

Thomas Lea (Lee) aged 23 years, bachelor, Occupation: Steward.
22, Alderson Street, Sunderland

Father: Thomas Lea (deceased) Occupation: Carpenter

Witnessed by: Robert Holmes Crowther (he is the brides father and I have a lot of information on this side) and Frederick Vinall.

I have Frederick Vinall in the 1881 census in Sunderland but can't find him in 1871.

*Thomas Lea (Lee) Junior, died before 1881

Anyone got any ideas, hints or tips for finding Thomas in any of the census records prior to 1881
