Birth registration wasn't compulsory until 1875, so you may simply be unable to get a birth cert for either of them

What about this?

Marriages Jun 1869
...>>>FELLOWES Henry Birmingham 6d 118
HAND George Birmingham 6d 118
...>>>PROBERT Emma Birmingham 6d 118
Sutton Eliza Birmingham 6d 118

It's just a guess. We don't even know if Emma was his partner & not Eliza.

Have sent for those cert's, in the last 2 years I have got various cert's that I hoped would be them but had no joy .....................

I think the breakthough would be finding Emma born 1868 and her father Henry born 1849 on the 1871 census but to date I have never found them

Reg, how common was it not to register births?

Ozi

Not Emma Probert, tried that one and drew a blank as she is with her Henry Fellows in later years when mine is in Sheffield with another women.

Thanks for looking though

1881 is such a funny household. Who is Emma Hall really?

LOL, Emma Hall later becomes the common law wife of Henry ( 1849 ) and changes her childrens names to Fellows which later gets really confusing, in 1881 she is living with Henry's two children Emma and Henry whilst he is in the workhouse.

I have Emma Hall's marriage cert to show that her maiden name was Ellis just to put her to one side away from the Fellows
