I am trying to find martha shepard (age not know) who married william bacon (born 1812) in 1855 at bethnal green, london.

Have you the marriage certificate of these 2 people as there is a William Bacon and Martha living in Norfolk but they are age 49 and 52 in the 1861 census so this may have been a 2nd marriage for them both and may not be the right couple.A marriage certificate would give their age and their father's name. Irene

Echoing Irene -- you need the marriage certificate. Even if it doesn't give her age, it should give her father's name, and that really seems to be the only way you're going to find her.

Shepard could be just one variation of numerous spellings the family might have used, keep in mind too.
