William Naisbitt (various spelling) b.1830 in Ferryhill. I think i may have found his father George b.1806 in Lanchester and his mother and siblings. I have them in each census all living near each other in the same civil parishes. Since it is before certificates and as yet i cant view the parish records can anyone help me determine that William is George's son. Thanks Alison

Did William marry?

If he did, the cert will tell you the name and occupation of his father...........

Yes William did marry before 1851 but i cant find his marriage. His wife in 1851 is down as Mary Burnup Naisbitt and living with George (the possible father) is a Joseph Burnup. But cant find a marriage for Naisbitt to Burnup. I will follow that up though thanks Reg.

Elouise - I will try and find them in census. they could be possible uncles or turn out to be the father! Thanks!

Sorry I made it confusing!
I think George may be Williams father.
William & wife Mary Burnup Naisbitt are living in 1851.
1851 census George (possible father) is living with a Joseph Burnup - so it links but can't find a marriage.
And i cant determine whether William is Georges son. Sorry!

Oh thanks Andy I was trying to find them in 1841. and all the names seem to fit. This post is helping! Thanks again.

Alison

Alison Report 30 Dec 2007 22:03

Ohh that all fits.. Maybe Joseph decided he would go under ''Burnop'' in the 1851 census. Meaning it would still tie in. Thanks Libby

Alison

Alison Report 30 Dec 2007 22:08

Alison

Alison Report 30 Dec 2007 22:24

Thanks Libby I will follow all of them up and hopefully get an answer. Now i know George Naisbitts occupation could i order William and Marys marriage? which then would tell me his fathers name which i could then try and prove right?
