My grandfather was James Bert Wood born 5 Jan.1889. I have his birth cert. but I am unable to find his death. All I know is he died between 1947 & 1960 in Brixton London.

Regards
Margaret

Brixton would be under the Lambeth registration district. I have also searched 1947 to 65 with no success. Could the death be earlier or later possibly

Margaret

I have ancestors from Brixton and when they died at home the registration district was Lambeth.

However I also have ancestors from Brixton who died in hospital and their death was registered in the hospital district.

Two examples...

In 1897 my GGGrandmother's death was registered in Chelsea as she died in the Fulham Cancer Hospital, but her home address was Brixton.

In 1955 my GGrandmother's death was registered in Kent, as she died in a Hospice there, but her home address was in Lambeth.

So it may be that you need to widen your death registration search criteria.
