Trying to Find Abigail, Annie Brown, and Molly ...

Melville Robertson Annie Brown Martin Molly Martin Abigail Martin.

My mother Jane Rose (Brady?) was born in County Crieff in Perthshire in 1924/25 and her mother was Annie Brown Brady (nee Martin). She was also known as Annie Brown Robertson (married to Melville) - son Robert (Bob), and Annie Brown Hyland (married to John). She was normally known as Nancy, or preferably Nan. Nan's sisters were Abigail (Abbey) Martin, and Molly (not sure if Margaret?) Martin. Molly I think moved from Scotland to Canada and was married to Jim. Abbey lived in Australia and was married to Tony Costa.

I'm just starting on this and finding it very difficult. Nan also had another daughter, Rose, who was killed when she was around 17 years old. Nan had a family portrait and there was a beautiful little girl called "Bunty" with blonde ringlets in the photo. My sister Wendy and I were told by our mother Jane Rose (Jean) not to ever ask Nan about Bunty. So we never did. She was only a young girl in the photo. It was taken in Scotland and I think Bunty may have been another sister of Nan's, and that was probably her nickname rather than a formal name.

I am sure I have a lot of relatives in Scotland and would love to meet them. My son Shane is currently in London on a working holiday, and travelled through Scotland on his way to London. He told me how beautiful it is, and that he's thinking seriously of moving to work in Glasgow later on in January.

I am finding this fairly difficult also because most of my ancestors are in Scotland. If anyone can help me, I would be very grateful.

This is a wonderful site and I have high hopes!

HAPPY NEW YEAR AND A SAFE AND LOVELY 2008!!
