I am looking for my nan's (Margaret Tearney) brother Peter Tearney. I believe he was born in between April and June 1931 in Newcastle, his father was John Tearney and his mother was Margaret Donoghue. Margaret Donoghue died shortly after Peter was born, its believed that Peter was given to a family member Henry Tearney but he didn't keep him. I was told he was then sent to a Catholic home in Whickham? My nan was only 6 years old when Peter went away, she had been searching for him until she died last year. If anyone has any information please get in touch.

Sorry, I can't help with your search, but wanted to let you know that you are right about when he was born. This is the reference for his birth certificate:-

Peter Tearney, mother's maiden name Donoghue
June qtr. 1931, Newcastle T., 10b, 75
