info i have john white 1901 born abt 1849 staffordshire married sarah jane white living in leicestershire. father for john was also john white occupation looks like lawyer for his father, can anyone find him on the 1851 census please?

Are you sure occupation isn't sawyer? It's one of the most common mistakes.

on one of census it states yoxall as where born
so not sure

Having a hard time finding him. Lots of John Whites! I even went to 1901 to find birthplace, it's Yoxall, Staffs. Didn't help.

he married 1871 enderby so i am taking it that his father was still alive and being a lawyer/sawyer.
i know there is so many john whites which does not help

there was a john white from yorkshire on 1871 living in leicestershire year says about 1812 on 71 census could someome tell me if his occupation was lawyer/sawyer?

The one I'm looking at in 1871 is a cab proprietor. Guess I've got the wrong one? He ws born 1812 York, Yorks. and living in Leicester.

This looks like the same family as 1901 where it says John was born Yoxall. This John will be the one fouind in 1851 whose father was a sawyer.
