Hi, my grt grt grandad was born in calcutta india, c.1832, in the 1891 census he was listed as a retired army officer, India. His name was webster biss. I presume his father was also in the army leading to india being his birthplace? Does anyone have access to any army records or information on him or his family i have the names of a few of his children, some were born in india and some in england. He married an english woman Caroline Bevan in 1875. So i presume she went over there with him, i would be so greatful eve for any little clues anyone could give me! Thankyou xx |

It could be, you see i dont know any further. Since the marriage was 1858, he was prob born around the same time as my great great grandad, so william COULD be a brother and J B biss, websters father? |
