That would be your uncle George. ;)

There are two Clark-Gaynor births after 1911:

George Clark 1915 Jul-Aug-Sep Gaynor South Shields Durham, Tyne and Wear

William Clark 1912 Apr-May-Jun Gaynor South Shields Durham, Tyne and Wear

I do think that "shortly after giving birth" to George must have been a little less shortly than might have been thought! There were two perinatal deaths of Clark infants in South Shields in 1st quarter 1919 (births don't seem to have been registered separately), so I wonder whether she might have died in a subsequent childbirth.

Assuming the 1919 death is your Bertha, note that she died before her birthday in the year, so she was 35, but actually born in 1883:

Name: Bertha Gaynor
Year of Registration: 1883
Quarter of Registration: Apr-May-Jun
District: Manchester (1837-1924)
County: Lancashire
Volume: 8d

This seems to be her marriage:

Name: Bertha Gaynor + John Thomas Clark on same page
Year of Registration: 1904
Quarter of Registration: Apr-May-Jun
District: South Shields
County: Durham, Tyne and Wear
Volume: 10a
Page: 1304

so might this be her death?

Name: Bertha Clark
Estimated Birth Year: abt 1884
Year of Registration: 1919
Quarter of Registration: Jan-Feb-Mar
Age at Death: 35
District: South Shields
County: Durham, Tyne and Wear
Volume: 10a
