In 1901, aged 20 Arthur ChHarles Kilby was a convict in Parkhurst Prison....so maybe the Orphanage Asylum in Wolverhampton in 1891 - when he was 10 yrs old, was a school for naughty boys?? .

I have googled Parkhurst Prison & The Wolverhampton Orphanage, but havent found much to 'tie them together'.

Can anyone help find out what happened to Arthur - why he was sent to the orphanage? - why he was sent to prison? and what happened to hom after that???

Appreciate all help.

On the 1881 census, Arthur is shown as 7 months.

Gillian, I am not sure where the prison records will be held at, possibly Hampshire records office if they survive, google them and see if you can find a phone number.

Can anyone please help me to find out a bit more about Arthur - where he came from, why he was in prison & how long for???
