My 3xggrandmother had her last child when she was 49/50. She had her first child in 1838 and her last child in 1869, my 2xggrandmother. |

i found one in my family tree where the youngest child was the eldest daughters child.......even on the census(they obviously lied) it states son....it was only when his grandson from america enquired about his grandfathers parents i obtained the birth certificate.....mothers name...no fathers name...so the grandparents pretended he was theirs...probably happened alot in the past...but the ONLY way you`re going to find out is by purchasing the birth certificate....allan |

Yes I was wondering the same thing. I will have to order her certificate. The person who gave me the info was sure it was thier child child. Though I have to say I find it unusual. My 2xggrandmother herself had a child when she was young and my 2xggrandfather took him on as his own. As she was a servant at the time of becoming pregnant. I know that other people would say they were parents to protect others. My great grandmother herself took on other peoples children too. Funny lot really back then. |
