Looking for Henry Lewis Allen. Born 1857ish not sure where - Died 1941 aged 84 in Darlington Co Durham. Married to Alberta Wright, had children Frank Cecil, Horace, Kathleen Alberta and Gordon, known as Jimmy. Believe this to be his second marrage... Believe to have started employment as Commercial Traveller ? On childrens Birth certs he's named as Minerial Water Traveller through to Engineer and on Death cert as a Minerial Water Manufacturer! WOULD LOVE ANY info on my Great Grandad, just cannot find him anywhere!. His children were born all over the place and i have ran out of ideas and places to search. Help !!

Hi I can only see one on 1861 census age 3 Stoke Newington
Father John Allen Chemist on 1891 /1901 birth varies surrey,london ,stoke newington

Hi, yes i found that one but i couldn,t tie him in with any info i have as i don't have names of parents or first wife etc. My mum believed he was disowned by his family at some stage. Not sure what to do ??

If you get his marriage certificate, it will tell you his fathers name. Then you can use this to cross check that the one found in the census is the right one.

Must admit i havn't got his marriage cert. I tried matching up any Alberta Wrights and Henry Allens that had got married and i couldn't find any. The surname Wright and Allen are pretty common but i couldn't find a match. I,m also pretty new at all this which doesn't help !!

No she,s not mentioned on Henry's Death cert that was his Daughter In Law.

On 2 childrens Birth certs it states - Alberta Allen formerly Wright and one, Franks, it states Bertha Allen formerly Wright.
