Mary, you will not find the marriage on the English BMD if they married in Jersey. The channel islands have their own BMD records. As far as I am aware, they are not available online, google "channel islands BMD certificates", I am sure there is a site to get in touch with the records office.

Hello and thank you to everyone who has helped so far. Here I go again. I trying to find a marriage between JamesTiddy/Tidy and Ann Chick. Ann was Jamess second wife and I think they were married sometime between 1854 and 1860. I know that James was living in Jersey with his children from his first marriage at the time of the 1851 census and that he was still in jersey this time with Ann and her children in 1861. James was originally from Cornwall (b. abt 1814) and Ann(b.abt 1829) was born on the Isle of Wight. I have been searching BMD but no luck so far, can anyone help?

Thanks Mary
