My Grandfather was born in Abercwmboi in 1910 and I need to trace his records. What district do I need to concentrate on - Abercwmboi was a small hamlet near Aberdare which in turn was near Merthyt Tydfil. Where will I find records?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You should be able to find his birth reg'n on freebmd...it covers up to about 1920 now.

To establish which registration district you need to look for, check on the genuki website......

Richhard,
I think for that time (1910) births were then registered at Pontypridd.
All mine from Aberdare were Merthyr up till 1900, then they were all Ponty.
Do you need any help looking?
