Find Ancestors

Hi I am looking for Ada Emma Nye in the 1901 census.
this is what I have

Birth - Ada Emma Nye - Medway, Kent - 1977 Q1
1881 Census - Ada E Nye - Gillingham, Kent, living with parents Thomas and Emma
1891 Census - Ada Emma Nye - New Brompton, Kent, living with father Thomas and stepmother Maria Ann

Now I know have checked if she has died up to 1901. Nothing.
I have also checked to see if she married and can't find her either. I don't think she would have emigrated.

Any ideas please

Here's a possibility. Emma Nye on image. She's a mantle maker which would fit in with milliner. [Milliners are sometimes mantle makers as well.]

Update - It does say daughter on image but she is the last listed in the household & the image shows those slashes that delineate households at the same address. I think she may be a lodger or boarder. In fact looking at the image again, the Reads are at no. 33 & she's shown as no. 35. with the following family at no. 37.

Can't see any of the family in 1901...........although this looks like Jessie's marriage

Correction to my previous post - can see the image. It has a cross over the whole page so thought it was wrong. Maria Ann's birth place is given as Halifax, Nova Scotia (Nora Sertra) in transcription - British subject; image for 1891 is Halifax, British Subject

Potty this is correct. Ada's mother is Emma but she died in 1887. Lewis is Ada's younger brother.

Ozibird - I'll check this out. If it is the right Ada and she's a boarder they may then tie up to the marraige in 1904 that Reggie found.

Ozibird you could be right. above Mantle Maker it also says Tailor.
A least this show's she was still in Kent and the Davidson or Sharpe marriage is hers. I believe.

I will order the marriage certificate when I get a chance. Ada's was married in Q1 of this year and her father died in Q2. Hopefully he attended the wedding to help me more.

I'm assuming Ada was doing well enough with the business to be able to live alone, esp when her father moved away to Acton, london

I'm guessing she married Charles because there's a birth for a Davidson where the mother's maiden name is Tucker.
