Hi
Thank you both for your quick replies

Firstly yes as far as we are aware the Catterick connection is due to the armed forces and we believe that his father was serving.

Unfortunatley Herbert's son (who was my uncle by marriage) has passed away so we can't get any further information

As for the marriage certificate unfortunatley we do not have this as yet (has gone astray somewhere) but we do know that the marriage mentioned above is them as we do know they were married in Kensington in 1915 - I think a copy of the marriage certificate may be the only way we can obtain any further info

I am trying to find more information on the above - all I know at present is that he was married to Emmeline Winfred Ellen Davies born c1898 (known as Nellie) and that he was born around 1880 but unsure where (have been told it could have been Catterick but there was also connections with Dumfries.

I would be most grateful for any information on Herbert (known as Bert) especially his parents names and his correct place and date of birth

Thanks
Sandra
