I cant see a Louisa Reeves born 1860 Bermondsey in the 1881? Where did you get her surname from?Ah Julie says 1856 - back to 1881. Where are they living in 1891?

Nope, cant see her born Bermondsey. Are you sure they didnt marry earlier than you think? I suppose it is just possible she is a second wife. The image for Daniels age is a bit dodgey - have we found a birth ref for him - looks like it could say 54 on the image, not 34.

Daniel was born in 1861 & Louisa in 1856

Also found a Daniel Holland marriage in Westminster Mar Q 1892 - but again, no corresponding Reeve(s) to match.

Have you tried parish records for the area? Mormon church might have them or London Metropolitan Archives? I know the LDS do not have Camberwell records so you would need to check their listings.

If they aren't on the official register the only other record I can think of is the parish register

It is possible they were missed off the GRO index but they will still appear in the parish records for whichever church they married at. Of course, to search these you will need to know which church it was. People usually married in the bride's parish so try there first.

Also, there is always the possibility they they never actually married... People often did claim to be married when they weren't.

Cannot see a Daniel Holland(s) on that page on the full Ancestry image so don't think it can be that one.

Hi
I'm fairly new to family history and have come up against a brick wall. I am trying to find a marriage certificate for Daniel Holland and Louisa Reeves my g granparents. They were both born in Bermondsey, London. Daniel c1856 and Louisa c1861, and as far as I can see, first appeared as married on the 1891 census.

I have search BMD, and Familysearch, visited several times the Family History Centre in London to look through the books, and friends have serched ancestry for me all to no availe.Everyone seems to be of the opinion the marriage did not get entered into the books which apparently is quite common.

Is thier anyone out there that can help, or advise me what steps I can now take to obtain this certificate?
