I have exact details of my father, Charles Henry Downes. dob 25 August 1916. born in Birmingham to George Samuel Downes and Leah Catherine Anthony/s. George Samuel Downes was Private 33994 3rd Kings Liverpool regiment at the time of Charles' birth in 1916. George Samuel's father was also George Samuel and he was a boatman in 1906 when his son George married Leah in 1906. I lost touch when I was 18months old and would dearly like to learn more about my fathers side of the family. Any help please, would be really appreciated. Thanks sandra |

I found George Samuel Downes WW1 pension records on Ancestry. Do you have a copy of that? |
