So we assume that Jane died beween 1881 census and 1883.... there appears to be only one possible death

I cannot easily see what happened to Jane Ellen. It is possible that Florence married in 1904:

Robert Mountain - according to 1881 census was married to Jane Ellen and had 2 children, John William and Florence Rachel. He later married Milena Dobson and had a child - Herbert (my grandfather)
I would like to know more about Robert, his 1st wife and their 2 children. I do not have any information about them and would like to know what happened to them..
I do know that Robert worked at Meltham Hall estate near Huddersfield.
