I am looking for information on the parents of John Muir who was born in Scotland 1835. I think the mothers maiden name was Margaret Hinshelwood but I havre no other details for her . I would be grateful for any help as I have tried Scotlands people but got nothing.
Thanks for reading

Thank you very much for that , this looks like it could be the right one. Where were you able to find it out of interest? I am just unsure how to double check if I have the right one.
Very grateful
Thank you

I found it on familysearch. The marriage is on scotlandspeople but because it's a parish register it probably won't have any details.

But there again you might strike lucky and have a registrar who did put down parents details. It's worth a try anyway.
