Thank you, thats really helpful. That is definately him. I didn't think about the 6 weeks to register a birth thing - even though I registered my own babys birth a year ago!!

Thanks Again

He is in the June qtr of that year. The index is when the birth was registered and NOT when the birth occurred.

I believe they have a few weeks to register the birth. How about this one?

Name: Albert Ernest Flint
Year of Registration: 1874
Quarter of Registration: Apr-May-Jun
District: St Saviour Southwark
County: London, Surrey
Volume: 1d
Page: 113 (click to see others on page)

Hi Andy, looks possible. Gayle, at the top of the certificate, does it say St Saviour?

I would guess that they didn't register him until April (you have 6 weeks to register a birth). There should be the date of registration on the cert.

I have the birth cert for Albert Ernest Flint born on the 28 February 1874 at Walworth in Surrey.

However, when I go into the birth records for Jan,Feb,Mar 1874, he is nowhere to be seen??????

Any ideas??
