Many thanks to you both. Michelle in answer to query Philip (1836) was only child. He had 1 son Philip (1861) ,married Rebecca Smallwood.Also have his G.parents Philip (1810) & Frances M Meadows.I dont blame you for backing out !! Kathryn I shall follow up on Ann Langley & order Birth Cert.

Never mind that! I was just being pushy -- mainly because Denise had wanted to know whether she could order the cert w/o the father's name, and I just wanted to set her mind at rest. ;)

So far, we've found all the same stuff, and not found all the same stuff. Dead heat. Over to Denise, sez I! She may know perfectly well what happened after 1861. (I'm suspecting Ann was widowed and remarried, but still not finding anything.)

Can't find him by given name, surname, mother's name, date/place of birth ...

Also can't find intermediate Philip, 1836, in 1861, when he oughta be on a vessel somewhere.
