I have my grandads birth certificate that states his mother was Mary Byrne Cox. I have found her parents James Cox b 1818 Croydon Surrey and Margaret b 1830 Cork Ireland. Mary had 4 brothers Edward b 1866 Kent, Henry 1863 Kent, Thomas 1858 Kingston (one census says US and James 1850 Waterford Ireland..

I cannot find where the Byrne name comes in. Ive tried looking up Margaret Byrne and any marriages (maybe margaret was married before because of the age difference in children and the eldest was born in Ireland).

I can't find James Cox parents as maybe his mothers maiden name was Byrne.

Has anybody any ideas. Mary 'Byrne' Cox was born in Gibralter (which somebody kindly found for me) Mary married twice first to Parick Hennessey and then to Henry Crisp. In1891 she lived Brook Street Marylebone and Margaret her mother lived Homer Street Marylebone.

Can't find anything for 1901 not even for Marys children Charles, Maud or Alice Crisp

Does anyone have any ideas where this Byrne comes from

Thanks
