If you look on the Records Office Board, there is someone there who is offering to search ten year blocks on the bmd's. You need from 1819 to 30 which is just about ten years, so add your information to that thread and they will trawl through all of the quarters for you

FreeBMD hasn't got up to 1930 yet, so you'll have a bit of a wait. You can keep track of transcription progress here:

http://www.freebmd.org.uk/progress.shtml

At the moment, 1919 is about half done, and after that, pretty much zip.

Your option is to download the 4 pages per year for the years 1919 onward, say at Ancestry, and scan through them by eye for the death.

If you subscribe to Ancestry, this is the link for finding the images:

http://www.ancestry.co.uk/search/db.aspx?dbid=8966

If you don't, and you just can't wait for FreeBMD, a 14-day free trial at Ancestry would give you the access.

hi
i have been researching my grandfathers death reg for what seems to be an eternity [ 8 months now]
so if anyone can be succesful i would be very grateful to you as i have many rellies details bmd but my grandfathers death reg is elusive
i have his birth cert which states he was born in beer, devon. 1879
at some point he was a merchant seaman
his name is william john cyril RUSSELL
i also have his marriage cert which states he married my grandmother beatrice ethel EVANS in west ham essex in 1905
then i lost track of him
i obtained my grandmother beatrice ethel RUSSELL nee EVANS
death cert this states that when she died in erith, kent in 1946
she was a widow
today i recieved my parents marriage cert this states that william john cyril RUSSELL {my mothers father} was deceased at the time of my parents marriage in 1930 the last child he fathered was born1919 therefor he must have passed away sometime from 1919 i HAVE tried freebmd
to 1930 i believe he passed away in kent
any info on him MUCH appreciated failing this thank you anyway
