Three beers for Heather! So were these the right folks, and the searching around was worthwhile? Won't know for sure until a certificate or two comes in the mail, I guess. Hope Sheila keeps the assembled masses posted. ;)

We may be lucky with that death cert - it gives a birth year of 1849 ish and here we have an Edward with a father Henry, a commercial traveller and mother Sarah: 1851
What do you think? Where did you get that birth year for Henry (who is the right job for this guy)

Oh Brilliant - through that info we have THE marriage (you were throwing us with that incorrect birth year): You can buy the cert using the following ref

So when was Edward born and where?

Sheila

no Heather
Henry Piedgeon George was married to Sarah Rimes as far as I know.
Edward George his son was married to Jane E Mossman, the latter is confirmed.
My Uncle Alf has the marriage cert. of Edward George and Jane Mossman.
Edward died in Nov 1894 due to an accident on Paddington Station where he worked as possibly the Deputy Station master. Very sad as it left poor Jane to live on a railway widows pension. She lived to a good age of 91 in 1939.

Any connections

Edward Georges birth certificate would give his mothers full maiden name - if he was born before 1837 then does he have younger siblings born after that date?

Why do you think that the wifes name was Rimes? Where/when was Edward born? How do you know Henry had that middle name and his rough year of birth?

Henry Piedgeon George was born around 1806 he possibly married a Sarah Rimes(but we need this confirmed). His trade was a wool merchant and he travelled the country in a horse & trap. His son was my great grandfather Edward George who married Jane Mossman. One of his sons we believe emigrated to Australia and there is possibly a large George family living in Melbourne now but we have lost contact with them now.

It would be good if anyone could confirm if my Great great grandmother was Sarah Rimes also more info about Henry, where he lived etc.
