i am stuck on this one at the moment.
i was hoping to find a son with him
i cannot find valentine brinkley/brincley born abt 1826 hertfordshire on the 41/51 census i have found a christening but it is a lot later then he was being on the later census christened 1839 hertford

You have to be careful with dating a birth from the baptism. Whilst it was normal to baptise in the first year of birth I have found examples of children being baptised up to age 15. If you are lucky the date of birth is shown in the baptism register but if it isn't you cant assume that the baby was new born.

I wonder if this is your Valentine on 1861?

i have also see some being done a lot later then when they was born. with it not stateing the age makes me a bit more carefull it is the only one that i can seem to find that is not submitted i take it was done because he was getting married he had his first child about 1842 but have not been able to find that as of yet.or him on any of the 41 or 51 census. got him on the 61 census
