This really does make sense as my father had a few notes that I managed to get a hold of and there was a ? at the name welsh as a previous surname so now i know this is definately right then. Thats amazing I had sort of forgotten about that. So she was married before then..

Had spare credit on Scotlands people - got this marriage for you. Confirms the marriage:

1892

WELSH WILLIAM

FREW CHARLOTTE

ARDROSSAN OLD /AYR 576/01 0027

Hope this helps you.

Would suggest that KIRK is Elizabeth's married name. So you have her husband's name - James, and their daughter. Opens your tree up even further.

Charlotte married William J Morgan., the parents were alfred and mary morgan. I have the marriage cert of alfred and mary and on the part where the parents signiatures go it says ......William Joseph Morgan, Charlotte Morgan previously welsh , ms frew
so now I am completely confused as I thought her mothers name was mary durrace but why would it say ms frew instead of ms durrace. ?

ErikaH Report 10 Jan 2008 23:04

The Frew refers to Charlotte.........it was HER maiden name.......not her mother's.

Charlotte Frew married Mr Wlesh......he died........Charlotte Welsh married Mr Morgan, but her maiden name did not change..........

Her mother was born in Ireland, which is why there is nothing under her name on Ancestry.

It remains to be seen whether she married Robert Frew in Ireland, or in Scotland. For the sake of your finding info, I hope it was Svotland!!

I'm finding nothing for the other 2 couples on scotlandspeople. I would suggest they're possibly Irish as well?
