My grans name was Lily Mills.Eldest daughter of William&Sarah Elizabeth Turnpenny.William was born deaf,in about 1870&Sarah(born 1873) lost her hearing at an early age.I am having problems tracing the Turnpenny line any further back. They both attended the deaf&blind institute in Leeds.I have been told that William was born illigitimately so possibly that's why I am stuck. Please is there anyone out there who can help me in my search? |

Do you any certificates? Have you found William and Sarah on any censuses? Where does it say they are born? |

Do you know when your Gran died and what her name was at death. That way might be able to try and work back from that. |

William&Sarah appear on the 1901 cencus along with their 2 daughters Lillly&Harriet.Sarah's parents&her brother all lived at the same address&I even have a documented picture of the house.Gran was always known as Lily not Lilly as stated on the cencus. |
