Mary-Anne Report 31 Jul 2007 14:57

Edward (sometimes Edwin/Redmund) Welch b Ire c1831 He was my gt grandfather and, as far as I know, came to England from Cork (County, not city I am told) because of the famines. He lived most of his adult life in the Kensington area of London, was married to Frances Stokes 13.2.1859 at Shrewsbury Place, Isleworth. They had at last five children that I am aware of - the eldest, Thomas was born in 1861 he was joined by three sisters: Anna 1864 Mary Ann 1869 Helena Caroline 1873 Fanny 1881 In one census ther is a reference to Michael Welch who is living at the same address. He was 20 years older than Edward - brother or father? Any information gratefully received.
