I am researching my mother's family and trying to trace two cousins of mine who lived as children in the Gosport area. Their father, Ronald Whittington, was my mother's younger brother and joined the Royal Marines as a boy entrant and then served in the second world war and was a prisoner-of-war in Italy for 4 years. My mother's name was Doreen Margaret. She was born in 1910 in Eastbourne, Sussex. Her mother's Christian name was Jessie, presumably Jessica. She later married a William Pyle and moved to Guildford until his death. |
