Am new to researching the family tree and am looking at the German side of my ancestory. My Great grandfather is Wilhelm Freidrich Carl Schmidt born in Lepahn Nr. Preetz/Holst, Germany on 22/01/1893 married to Hella Magda Fahning born 08/08/1898 in Hamburg, Germany. Can anyone assist in the next step back? Or where I need to look to find out more? Many thanks!
