hello all, our William WILKINS must have been quite achartacter ship log has him with scar on his left check , trade as soldier, labouer, & boatsman , trying to learn where i could get details re his desertion . his convict years in Australia shows him with lots of squiggle on his 2 ticket of leave ! even got to be constable cacthing bush ranger yet alleged Fraud in 1836 landed back in trouble . he arrieved in Port Jackson (Sydney) on the Lord Melville 2nd - on 3 may 1829 . did find site with records of ship Lord Melville 2nd registered his name on 14 nov 1828 ( source HO 11/6) yet ship log says sailed London 05/01/1829 (Charles Bateson Book) |
