Can anyone please help me?
I have been trying to trace my Wishart ancestry. I am fairly confident on the recent generations but not sure about the earlier ones. What I have is:
Alexander Wishart b19Mar1801 Montrose, Angus Scotland
His parents Alexander Wishart/d c12Aug1746 Montrose, Angus, Scotland, and Margaret Smith
His parents Alexander Wishart c29Aug1725 Montrose, Angus, Scotland and Margaret Fettis/Fettus
His parents John Wishard c28Nov1697 Montrose, Angus, Scotland and Isabell Lassone
His parents Arthur(e) Wishart and Jan(n)et Petrikin. I can't get back any earlier than this.
The above is based on the IGI, which I know is not always accurate. I don't want to put incorrect information in my family tree.
Can anyone please confirm whether they think that the above is correct or advise corrections?

I know that the IGI can be inaccurate but it certainly is a very good place to start. I subscribe to Ancestry.com which has so much information to offer. They have a couple of sites where people have placed their trees for others to use.
Just in case you are wondering why I looked up the Wishart site. My mother is a Wishart but not linked to your line.
