it seems some are loving it, and other struggling..... I hope we get used to it over time, I guess it has cost a lot to re design this web site, so it is only fair to give GR a chance....

Well, I don't know what to think, took me a while to find the rely button, how strange it is at the top of the page and cant see the last reply when you add yours..........................

Sorry I don't like it ............. text is way to small, and giving me a headache and I have only been on the site for 15 minutes, I usually spend at least a hour or so going through the threads.

I think we all have our pages set differently??

I don't seem to have any more adverts than usual - In fact - those 'flippin kissy parrots' have gone - MUST be a bonus as they were driving me mad!

Perhaps someone who knows what they are talking about (rather than me) could tell us how to set our pages to get rid of those annoyances! ???

but what's the point of the re - designed layout?
After 20 mins or so faffing about I can see no appreciable benefit.

I have to say - I am struggling with it - I HATE change !!

I find it very difficult when I have to re-find my way about !!(I AM a grannie after all!).

However, the site WAS very basic and does need to be 'brought up to date' so I think it is a 'much needed' step in the right direction but I don't like it 'yet' as I don't know how it works 'yet' !

Work with it!! - I am sure it will be an improvement in the end.

Constant adverts on the left are irritating box on left tioo big (Boards Summary)

I would have preferred GR to try and sort out the amount of old threads that are answered and members are taking the trouble and time to inform the poster has replied to an old thread

Again,

I think it is down to how we have our screens set!

I do not have any glare and very few moving adverts which do not seem to annoy??

We need someone here to tell us how to set thing up please!

Call me Mr Grandad Silly...........Just dont see The WOW factor....and as for the "ads" on the left, they're a stupid distraction. It's a cross we will have to bear for using this site.

I don't see the WOW factor either but on 'my screen' I think it looks like an improvement (even though I don't really like it yet).

Problem is - we all seem to be seeing diffent things at the moment.

I wonder if GR will listen to us, and hopefully reduce advert size. The wow was because it was such a shock o see so many changes. I am still inm two minds about the changes, it has some good points and bad points.

Perhaps GR might consider setting up a 'Users' panel' (and I am NOT putting myself forward for this !!!!!!!!!!!!!

However, there are many people on here who have expertise on web site 'layout's' and use this, and other sites quite frequently.

There will be many people who are well placed to give good opinions on what is needed and what the members would like to see improved?

I am sure that if they look through posts they would be able to find several people who they could invite onto the 'panel' and could work together then to make the right improvements??

If GR didn't seek our advise when planning new lay-out, I hardly think they will act on any suggestions we make now. I would have thought there would be GR staff monitoring the sites to judge our re-actions.................................but apparently not.

I agree Alan,

GR do NOT have a very good CI (corporate image) on here !

Perhaps they will take note though and seek one out ??


(Then again, - perhaps not!) -although it WOULD be in their interest?)

The 'user panel ' would be a good start?

Hi all

Maybe, there is some hidden talent out there amongst us, who could set up a new GR with a different name of course and peeps from here would know what they want.

The majority seem to have small issues with GR site, and I am being optimistic that some of the GR team may "Hear" us and make those small changes.

People are saying they will not renew their subscription, now that would be a shame,

New GR's have been done before - AND quite successfully, I might add!!

However,

I think this one is O.K. - It just needs to 'listen' a bit more and to let the 'members' help!!

After all - 'IT' provides the forum but it is the 'members' who make it a success !!!!!!!!!!!

Quite agree, it is the members who make it worth while and that was my point in saying it is a shame if people leave, so many volunteers go unnoticed.

For one, the colours on the tree are painful to my eyes! Plus, I can't now search a name on my tree, click on it and it show up. It's going to take ages to scroll through to find a particular person.
