Did they have any children born in England? If so, your best bet is to get the birth cert of one of the children, which will give the mother's maiden name.

You might find the marriage among the British consular records on findmypast or familyrelatives.

However, if it was an Italian ceremony, you won't be able to find it unless you know the name of the town where they were married, because records are held by the local registry offices.

Have a look at this web page:-

I don't know how much help it will be.

How does one go about finding the birth name of someone born in Italy? My aunt was Italian born and married my uncle who was British born. They lived in Bristol for most of their years and she died there as did my uncle. I cannot trace their marriage date as I have a feeling they might have married Italy and it is possible he was in the army in Italy during the 2nd world war. His name was BRIAN HEDLEY COLLINS AND HER MARRIED NAME EVA COLLINS.

Any advice greatly appreciated.
