Don't worry Maria, it is difficult when you are new. It is just that if you put the same question on more than one board, you can have people wasting their time looking for information which has already been found. Also if you keep it all together, people are more likely to keep adding new bits as they find them

I am trying to find any info on my Great-Grandmother Alice. Before she was married she called herself Alice Knox, but on her marriage certificate it shows her maiden name as Ince. Also on her marriage certificate it shows her Fathers name as Thomas Knox. I don't have any information on her Mother.

I am wondering if Alice was adopted or maybe her real Father (Ince) died and her Mother re-married (Thomas Knox) so she took his name. Or was she possibly born out of wedlock and her real Father left her and her Mother????

Alice married George Coram and they had 10 children.

If anyone can help, I would be very grateful.
