Hi Guys,
I am very new here so hope someone might be able to help... My mother was unmarried at the time of my birth, married my step father when I was one and was adopted by him.She has never told me any info about my bio-father but would like to find info.
Any suggestions on where to start
Many thanks for your time guys

Joanne,

Do you have your birth certificate? He might be mentioned on there.

Go to this site and follow the instructions:

http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/adoptions/

It is quite a lengthy process, but will bear fruit for you in the end.

No Rose, just my mothers name and address.
I am not sure what the adoption process would have been like in the 1970's...whether she would have had to have my Bio- fathers permission etc.
