Genealogy Chat

Hi all are you ready for this one ? right you will have to bare with me not very clever when it comes to computers . i have copied my tree on to gedcom and sent it to my e-mail address so i can copy my gr tree onto my tribal tree but can not open the tree from my e-mail (does that make sence ) can any one help please

Can you save the ged com? then send it as an attachment? I wish I could remember how I did it HELP!!!!!!!!

I save my tree to desktop as a gedcom file..................then I can find it easily to send as an e-mail attachment.

Alyson Do you mean that you have exported your tree from GR to your email?
If so you will not be able to open it unless you have software such as Family Tree Maker loaded onto you home computer.

ok so let me get this right if i put it on family tree maker i can then copy onto to my tribal pages site yes no oh i dont know told you all i was was dumb (ha ha )

The kids wont even help me any more the are board with my tree now they tell me they dont know how to do it just so i dont ask them anymore

oh my good i did (or should i say you did it ) that was so simple 1287 names copied in secs and now i wont have to go all through my tree when people ask me how we are related tribal pages does it for right away

I hope you like it, I ve been so pleased with the printing and all the other bits and pieces The only error is I have one relative born in Essex who for some reason is pinned on top of a scottish mountain!!
