Can I get a copy of a 2007 will?

My father in law died last year and I have seen the will but my sister in law won't let me have a copy for my hubbie and our family records. Can I get a copy or is it only available after a certain number of years.
Thanks
Di

Yes, there are no time restrictions

Can remember the address in York but the above link will have it.

Or if you know the local probate office that dealt with it contact them.

I think it'll cost you about £5 if you go to London yourself, pay £5 wait 1 hour and its yours

Thank you. It was done in Chester so would Chester probate office have it?
Thanks

Just been on the website you gave me and have found the address I need to write to in York.

Before you write to York, give the Manchester and Liverpool probate offices a call to see if they have it.

I recently had to get one that was done in Brighton - I phoned them they confirmed the details, I paid over the phone and I received the copy within a couple of days. Might be worth a couple of calls before contacting York.

Best wishes

Mummy bear.
Cheque and form already in the post. Never mind but thanks for pointing me in the right direction anyway. I've waited a year so another 2 weeks if I have to isn't long to wait.
Thanks
