hi all,

after a visit to my gran yesterday, i've decided to go off at a tangent and try to find info on her father.

Edward Parsonage born Romford Sep 1891. he lived in Reigate from atleast 1915, but the only one i can find on census with father also Edward is born Middlesex. Apparently Romford could be counted as Middlesex?

however my nan has never heard of any of the siblings who appear with him there. she did give me names who i have possible births for in Reigate.

Norman - Norman 1895
Jim
George- William George 1888
Nellie- Ellen Sarah A 1890

but i can find none of these on 01 census. what would you try looking for them as? either change in surname of first name. why was Edward born Romford and the one in middlesex in 01.

sorry i am a little confused. hope i have given enough info and someone can give me a few ideas.

thanks. Lee

oops sorry guys think i have found them atleast in 1891. down as parsonsge? living in Romford only trouble is fathers name doesn't match up. on census james and my nan say Edward. but she may have got a bit muddled. also james would make sense for a son known as jim.

Do you have your grandmother's parents' marriage cert? If not, you may need to get it, to establish accurate details about her grandfather.

Alternatively...get this birth cert.........

Name: Edward Parsonage
Year of Registration: 1891
Quarter of Registration: Jul-Aug-Sep
District: Romford
County: Essex
Volume: 4a
Page: 403

thanks Reg!

you're a star. o dear how confusing. none of them actually ever used their full name in life other than Edward and it was the same with his children. thanks again! :)
