could anybody help please with a birth i have just got my dads marriage certificte to his first wife her name was grace elsie crossthwaite they married in 1933 in manchester and it states she was 22years old on it but i can not find a birth for her and there is no fathers name any ideas

This is the only Grace Elsie birth who comes up on freeBMD around 1911, the area is correct.

and thanks for all your help the witnesses on the marriage certificate are albert edward eden and emiley eden these must be my dads cousins his mam was eden. i wonder if her name was roots as nicky found and her name had been changed for some reason

Grace Elsie was born right before her mother married Crossthwaite.

Edit: So she was registered Eccles but her father was Mr Crossthwaite so she used that on her marriage cert.
