When looking at a census record, press at the top where it says for example "1891 England Census" in big green writing.
You then get this-
For more information about this database, click here.

Press "click here" & it gives you info on when the census was taken & what informaion was collected. This is very useful especially for the 1841

I have the census dates written down, they are as follows:

1841 - 7 June
1851 - 31 March
1861 - 8 April
1871 - 2 April
1881 - 3 April
1891 - 5 April
1901 - 31 March

Thought it was quite useful to keep.

That's a useful list, Lorrraine - thanks for sharing it.

I've written it out and pinned it by the computer where I can refer to it when I need to. (So I hope it's acccurate! lol)
