Member Since: January 2003 Posts: 537 Send Message	I got married at the Rex St Lucian hotel. 19 of us (family and friends) were going out there on holiday, decided 6 months before we'd get married while we were out there. Can definitely recommend it! I'm afraid I can't help with the family tree side of things, but wish you every luck, and if you ever do get the chance to go that way on holiday, I can definitely recommend that island! It swapped hands between the French and English about 17 times I think! Hence lots of French/English families did go over there.... and they speak English mainly, as well as a \|French patois. Member Since: June 2003 Posts: 1,100 Send Message	No problem Karen ask away, I wish I was visiting Laura but it is a huge cost from down here so pretty unlikely until the kids are big. The problem I have, is that a very large part of my Macfarlane family tree has come to a standstill because a number of the children were born in Castries in St Lucia between 1820 and 1900,and I really need to confirm the right children with the right parents before I can carry on. I was hoping to find someone who lived in Castries who had an interest in family history who might be able to check them out in the record office there. Or point me in the right direction for finding family history info there,as its been a bit of a trick so far. Thats why I wanted people to pm me so I can discuss it with them and see what they think Thanks Tania

I have also seen many threads from people who dont want to attempt another post because they have been made to feel like idiots by messages like the one you have just posted.its sanctimonius and unecessary Once again I have simply asked people to pm me if they live in this area an activity I can assure you will take them all of a minute I imagine of the thousands of members on here some people frequent all of the boards but I am also quite aware that some dont thus my original message.

	Tania It is usually accepted that most of the searchers do indeed visit all boards. How do you think I saw the threads that I ddi see? ........... and one of the things that upsets them is when they spend hours trying to help on one board .......... only to discover that all the work has already been done on one of the other boards! If you have been around for even a few months, you must have seen threads on this very topic. sylvia
