sometimes - very occasionally - parish records give the name of the father at a marriage.

London Metropolitan Archives will help with this - St Georges in the East has had a few name changes over the years - they will know how to help you with this.

Which records office would I need to contact for St. Georges in the East?

Thanks Sam.
That's a shame. I thought I might at least get the father's name of one or both of them.

On familyseach.org, sometimes the marriages show a father's name for the bride. Unfortunately, St. Georges in the East doesn't appear at all on familysearch. I'm not quite sure why. It's ths tory of my life really, as 90% of my relations were born, married and buried in the parish.

You can't get a marriage certifictae from before 1837, they didn't exist.

You can contact the Records Office to get a copy of the parish record entry but you won;t get anything extra than you already know, other than whether they were 'of the parish' or not and the witnesses.

I want to order a copy of the entry of a marriage that took place in 1830.

I know the groom's name, the bride's name and the district. (Looked up by someone on GR who had a subscription to Ancestry, on Pallots).

How do I go about getting a copy of the entry in the register?

The district is St. Georges in the East.

Thanks
Lesley
