Unmarried son living with sister suggests deaths of parents...........

These are 'possibles' for Joseph........

Joseph Midgley 1843 Jan-Feb-Mar Leeds (1837-1929) Yorkshire - West Riding

Joseph Midgley 1848 Apr-May-Jun Leeds (1837-1929) Yorkshire - West Riding

Joseph Midgley 1848 Oct-Nov-Dec Leeds (1837-1929) Yorkshire - West Riding

One possible entry for Ann

Ann Midgley 1841 Jul-Aug-Sep Leeds (1837-1929) Yorkshire - West Riding

Unfortunately, it was before the introduction of recording ages on the index, so only the cert(s) would confirm.....unless you can find them on the NBI

Child Joseph was 10 in 1841 and he became a butcher I think. But he was living with his sister Mary (my relation) in 1851 in St Ann's Lane still. I know exactly where Woodhouse Cliff used to be because my gran lives round the corner so it would be nice if it was right - but as you say - farm servant sounds doubtful!

Thanks for the swift responses! Keep them coming!

Victoria.

Occ; Farm Servant.......so it's doubtful. But I can't see any other candidates

Were there any children in 1841?

Hi.

Could anyone look up Joseph and Ann Midgley in 1851 please. In 1841 he was a butcher and they were living at St Ann's Lane, Leeds. I can't find them in the 1861 census. In 1851 he should be 55 and she should be 50.

Thankyou,

Victoria.
