I have found two possible birth in-formations, but need clarification on the registration district.


In the 1871 census (April) the parents are in the Civil Parish of West Derby, in the town of Liverpool.

One birth info is ond 1871, West Derby, the other is ond 1871, Liverpool.

Any ideas as to the difference please.

One registration is 8B 365 ond West Derby

the other

8b 186 Liverpool

As I said in my request, what is the difference in the two registration districts, if the census info states both????

Kathlyn, as Reg said, on FreeBMD if you click on the registration district, it will give you a description of the areas covered by the district.

Liverpool is split into two districts.
So one address may state;
Liverpool reg. district Liverpool
Another;
Liverpool reg. district West Derby
Where they are living gives no indication of where the birth took place.
