Has anyone ever thought about putting a song or music title to describe all the Family Tree searches ?? For example mine is a song from the 1940's - "He's His Own Grandpa"..
One spends years and years going back to 1841 and beyond, adding, removing, scratching out, asking, borrowing, giving, head-banging, and then we say to ourselves - "I wish it was 1911" !!!!!!!!!

"They seek him here, they seek him there"...The Kinks (showing my age) Follower of fashion.

OK the rest of the song doesn't quite fit the genealogical quest but the first line sums it up I think :)))

The way some of mine flitted around I think "My ole man said follow the van" would sum em up

As this hobby is a road of discovery !!! and sometimes the road is either the wrong one or it leads you to a dead end, thus:-

My song is by AC/DC

"Highway to Hell"

The song I have on my family tree website is "It was a Very Good Year" by Frank Sinatra.

I thought it seemed quite apt - reminiscing over our lives...as our ancestors most probably did and those before them...

The Hollies ..."He ain`t heavy he`s my brother".........1st line...

The road is long, with many a winding turn....... very apt I think.....don`t have a brother myself........but every single one of my ancestors did.
