That was him in 1851.I would never of thought of looking for Robert"Hood".It doesn't work for 1841 though.
I will contact Ancestry but after Easter.

Heather, there are instances where districts have not been published. Contact Ancestry and ask if there are any any areas of Sheffield which are not on line - and let me know their response please, cos I have Sheffield Ancestory tht I cannot find. Also contant the Sheffield Family History Society, they are very good.

Let me know how you go on.

but I don't think it's them.Robert married a Jane Kent in Staffordshire in 1850.I'm not sure when the WOODs moved to Staffs. I'll look at the reg. districts.

These are the Sheffield districts on Ancestry 1841 census:-

Attercliffe Sheffield Sheffield West
Brightside Sheffield North Upper Hallam and Dore
Ecclesall Bierlow Sheffield Park
Nether Hallam Sheffield South

If you look below the 1841 search, there are the counties, click on Yorkshire, then Sheffield to find the above.

Joseph WOOD and Robert WOOD were born in Sheffield abt.1820's. Where should I look for them in 1841.Sheffield doesn't seem to be there.
