Hi

I need your help.

I have a relative who was a Head Groom in a Big House. How do I locate records of his employment and wages?

Any help gratefully received as this is the missing link in my family tree.

Thanks in advance.

Sarah

I'd suggest contacting the Country records office of where the Big house was and see if they hold records or try the Big house them selves.

You could also google the name of the house. Googling is an amazing tool

LOL, I dont think you will locate his wages, he would have spent them a long time ago :)

Yes, National Archives may be worth trawling and the records office local to the place he worked as they may have the old Estate Records.
